Finch is the newest addition to this family and we had a summer shoot at the park to celebrate his arrival. Big brother superhero was full of energy and wanted to run around and play for most of the session while his parents took turns with baby Finch. We were able to get everyone settled down for a few group photos before we were off to play again. It’s so great to have an official photo session with this awesome little family.
My good friend Scott was looking for some updated portraits to be done for his professional profile. We had a nice morning stroll around the Strathcona area, looking for interesting places to use as a backdrop. The historic architecture of Chinatown gave us a lot of character to work with, parks provided some greenery, and we found some fun graffiti to cap off our walk.
I’m so privileged to be this family’s photographer, once again, with their latest addition to the gang. Baby Luna made her grand debut and impressive entrance to the world just a couple weeks ago. She slept through the first portion of our shoot for a peaceful start to the afternoon. We ended the afternoon with a short walk through the neighborhood, enjoying the fresh air and flowers that mark the beginnings of spring.
On a beautiful August afternoon, Judy and Larry pledged their lives to each other in a small, private ceremony. The entire ceremony and reception took place in their apartment, with only a few family members present for the ceremony. We stepped outside to the apartment’s garden for a short photo session with just the bride and groom. It was a beautiful, intimate celebration. Best wishes to the newlywed couple!
Alan and Dorothy are embarking on their new life together, a new adventure! They are an active couple, often found outdoors and enjoying nature. It came as no surprise to me that they wanted to do something different. After the wedding ceremony in Abbotsford, we drove up to Fort Langley for their wedding party photos. They had a canoe ready and wanted to go out on the river in a canoe and do some photos on the water. The photos we got were amazing, and a great way to remember their special day.
Simon Fraser University hosted a special book “un-launch” for author, Al Etmanski. He wrote a book titled “Impact – Six Patterns to Social Innovation”. The un-launch event was an evening filled with storytelling, music, and poetry by the author himself, as well as storyteller guests Tamara Vrooman, Mike Harcourt, Claudia Li, Jason Mogus, Donald MacPherson, musician Claire Mortifee, and poet Meharoona Ghani.
Wow, it’s been one year already! It’s hard to believe that almost exactly one year ago, I was photographing a newborn baby Xandie and her mom and dad. Now we’re entertaining a walking toddler and waving balloons and things to get her to smile. During our photo session, we wandered along Commercial Drive looking for different backdrops for our photos. We did some individual portraits for Lisa and Luke, as well as pictures of the whole family together, then ended our session at a playground. It was slightly chilly afternoon to be out, but I enjoyed the time spent with this wonderful family!
Over the holidays, Ethan and his parents, Alan and Michelle, scheduled a photo session with me. The place we did our shoot was decorated with a large Christmas tree, cozy fireplace, and plenty of space for the little guy to go crawling around and exploring. Ethan’s parents were well prepared with Christmas sweaters, lending an extra festive note to our photos.
On August 16th, 2014, Alexandria (Lexi) unexpectedly arrived in this world, a couple months early. Born at just 1.6lbs, she’s spent a lot of time in the neonatal intensive care unit and only recently was allowed to go home. On Sunday, December 7th, almost exactly 16 weeks after Lexi was born, we did Lexi’s first Christmas photoshoot. Hannah and Steve are the proud parents of this adorable baby girl.
